JUROR: JOHN DUBROW is a prominent contemporary American painter. As a member of the National Academy of Design, he has received numerous awards from the Academy. Dubrow has also been given a Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant and the American Academy of Arts and Letters award. His paintings have been seen in many exhibitions, including at the National Academy of Design, Salander-O’Reilly Galleries, Forum Gallery, and Lori Bookstein Fine Art, where he currently is represented. Recently, he had a mid-career retrospective at the Demuth Museum in Lancaster, PA. His work is included in several major collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the National Academy of Design, and Harvard University. Dubrow has been making ambitious figurative paintings of New York scenes since 1983, and lives and works in NYC.
PRESENTATION Work must be suitably framed and ready for hanging. Drawings, prints, watercolors and pastels must be under Plexiglass. (Glass is permissible for hand delivery.)
FEES $35 entry fee allows each artist to submit 1-3 images. Additional images may be submitted for an extra $5 per image. Maximum submission: 6 images. Entry fees are paid through the entry form’s PayPal link, which accepts credit cards. Fees are nonrefundable. There are no handling fees but artists are responsible for all shipping costs.
SALES All work will be for sale unless the artist informs the gallery to the contrary. All proceeds from sales will go to the artist.
SUBMISSION Work will be juried from images submitted only through the gallery’s online submission form on this page above. Images must be JPGs with minimum width/height of 500 pixels, maximum size as 3MB. Do not use spaces or special characters (!@$, etc) in image file names. An embedded color profile is recommended for accurate color. Blue Mountain Gallery reserves the right to reject inaccurately represented work.
RECEIVING Shipped work must arrive by Wednesday December 17, 2014 in a sturdy, reusable container. Hand-delivered work must arrive on Thursday, December 18, 2014, or Friday, December 19, between 11am and 6pm (or earlier date by appointment). Substitutions and late arriving work will not be hung. Work must remain for the duration of exhibition. Artists are responsible for shipping costs to and from gallery and for insurance in transit. Return shipping must be prepaid through UPS or FedEx.
LIABILITY All possible care will be taken with the all the art work, but our insurance only covers work while it is hanging in the gallery. We will not be responsible for any loss or damage to the work while in transit to or from the gallery. Travel insurance is the responsibility of the artist.
REMOVAL All hand delivered work must be picked up from gallery on Saturday January 24 between 6-8:30 pm or Sunday January 25 between 10am and 12pm. Works not removed on these days will be placed in storage and released at gallery’s convenience.
